Edward M. Stucker, 79 a retired farmer and rancher of Ottumwa route, 5, died at the Mahaska hospital in Oskaloosa at 2:35 a.m. today. Since retiring from the farm in 1938 he had made his home in the Ottumwa vicinity with his three sons, Ross A. and Cecil O. Stucker, both of whom survive him, and Ralph J. Stucker, who preceded him in death in 1944. He was the son of Lafayette M. and Sarah Gannaway Stucker and was born at Pleasant Grove Iowa, July 11 1866. He married Laura A. Toft January 7, 1892 at Pleasant Grove, and she preceded him in death in 1938. A farmer all of his life until his retirement, he moved from his farm home near Pleasant Grove to North Dakota in 1912, where he operated a ranch. In 1922 he moved to Mediapolis, Iowa and lived there until his retirement in 1938. Active in church activities, he was a member of the Congregational church of Edmunds, N.D. Surviving in addition to his two sons are a daughter Mrs. Burton Miller, Ottumwa and a brother, James Preston Stucker of Burlington. One sister, Clara Trask also preceded him I death in 1904. Funeral services will be held at the Cumberlin Presbyterian church at Pleasant Grove in Des Moines County at 1:30 p.m. Monday, in charge of the Rev G. F. Meader, pastor of the church. Burial will be made in Pleasant Grove cemetery. The body will remain here at the Johnson funeral chapel until 11 a.m. Monday, when it will be taken to Pleasant Grove.
