DAVIS, MOWERY, ARGANBRIGHT, GANZ, JONES, ULERY, SAMMON

Omer Columbus DAVIS, son of William and Priscilla MOWERY DAVIS, was born April 8, 1861, in Competine Township, Wapello County, Iowa where he spent his entire life. He passed away Dec. 12, 1948, at the age of eighty-seven years, eight months and twelve days.

He was united in marriage to Samantha ARGANBRIGHT in Sept. 1886. To this union were born four children, Frank E. of Hedrick, Iowa; Ida, deceased; William who lost his life in World War I and Ira E. of Packwood, Iowa. Samantha passed away January 1, 1897.

On June 8, 1898, he was united in marriage to Miss Ellen WEBB, who passed away June 20, 1941. To this union were born four children, Virgil, who passed away at the age of two years; Mrs. Mamie GANZ of Fairfield, Iowa; Mrs. Ruth JONES of Bladensburg, Iowa and Lester of Chicago, Illinois.

He is survived by two brothers and one sister, Basil F. of Beaumont, Texas; Isaac O. of Agency, Iowa and Mrs. Mary ULERY of Whitterier, California. Also five grandchildren. Three brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
He has been a life long member of the Baptist Church of Farson, Iowa.

Services were held on Dec. 22, 1948 at the Baptist church at Farson. Rev Leonard SAMMON of Ottumwa was in charge. Burial was made in the family lot in the Competine cemetery.
