Death claimed one of Competine township's oldest residents Monday morning when Charles F. DAVIS passed away at his farm. Mr. DAVIS passed his 80th birthday last October.

Mr. DAVIS was born and raised in the Competine vicinity. With the exception of a few years which he spent in Hedrick he lived his entire life in that community.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. J. E. BUCHANAN of near Packwood and Mrs. Eunice DIAL of Ottumwa, four brothers, Isaac of Eldon, Basil of Beaumont, Texas, DeLoss of Hedrick and Omar of Farson, a sister, Mrs. Mary ULREY of Stockton, California, six grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Services will be held this afternoon in the Baptist church in Farson. Burial will be in the Competine cemetery.
