Clara Loretta Quinn Longdo

Clara Loretta Longdo, 57, of 1139 East Division, died Wednesday at 11:35 a.m. at her home. She had been ill since March 13. She was born December 13, 1912 in Hiteman, the daughter of John and Emma Quinn. She had lived in Ottumwa most of her life and had been employed at a local café as a waitress. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, and the Altar and Rosary Society. She married Lloyd Longdo on May 1, 1933 at Sacred Heart Church, he survives. Also surviving are two sons, Phil Longdo of Urbandale and Dave Longdo of Ottumwa; two daughters, Mrs. Bud Sanders of Marengo and Mrs. Geary Dunn of Ottumwa; eight grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Jeannette Quinn of Perry; Mrs. Patrick Marcay of Chicago; and Mrs. Leon Karts of Fairfield, and two brothers, Frank Quinn of Denver and James Quinn of East Moline, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and one brother. Funeral services will be Saturday at 9 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Reverend Thomas Stratman celebrating a Requiem Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
