Caddy dies; weak heart is blamed.
David Clabby, 20 years old, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Clabby, 819 North Fellows Ave died suddenly about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday while working as a Caddy on the golf course of the Ottumwa Country Club. He was a Caddy for R. E. White, 322 E. Pennsylvania Ave, local attorney and had just gone outside the course line on hole number five, east of the clubhouse, to look for a golf ball. Coroner John Drake was called and following his investigation, reported death of heart attack and announced there would be no inquest. Clabby was said to have been suffering from heart trouble for some time previous. Besides his parents, he is survived by four brothers, Francis and Merlyn of Waterloo; Bernard of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Robert of Ottumwa; three sisters, Mrs. Bernice Fletcher of Ottumwa, and Kathleen and Dorothy at home. Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Friday at the residence and at nine o'clock at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Reverend P. J. Murphy, Pastor, will celebrate a Requiem High Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The body was removed from the Vaughn Funeral Chapel to the residence at 1 p.m. today.
