Elizabeth WRIGHT was born in Forth Orange, N.J., March 1, 1823, and died Nov. 26 aged 80-8-26. United with the Missionary Ridge Baptist Church in her youth and remained a faithful and consistent member until 1866, when she transferred her membership to the M.E. Church. United in marriage with Serene Cromwell PUMPHREY May 18, 1848; nine children, five of whom survive her -- Mrs. Hattie ELLMAKER of Batavia; Mrs. Mary ACTON of Eldon; Mrs. Emma COPELAND of Libertyville; Frank PUMPHREY of Eldon, and Dr. Geo. PUMPHREY of Perris, Illinois. All were with her in her last hours. Among those who most keenly feel her loss are the aged husband, a stepson, Alpheus PUMPHREY of Agency, whom she loved and nurtured from childhood, and an orphan grandson, Jesse C. PUMPHREY of Texarkana, Tex., to whom she showed a mother's love....
