Mrs. Lulu Long

Mrs. Lulu G. Long, 73, died at 10:05 p.m. Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Marvin Miller, at 1010 Queen Ann avenue.

The daughter of Elijah and Sarah Cole Martin, she was born October 12, 1882, at Keosauqua. She had been a resident of Ottumwa for many years. Her marriage to Forrest Long took place August 9, 1897. He died May 14, 1937.

Surviving are five sons, James Long of Russellville, Ark., Rex Long of Chester, Pa., Joseph Long of Keokuk route 2, and Ray Long and Pete Long, both of Ottumwa; three daughters, Mrs. Reva Sternes of Seattle Wash., Mrs. Pearl Miller of Ottumwa and Mrs. Pauline Michael of Ottumwa route 6, nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and three brothers, Ed Martin and Sam Martin, both of Keosauqua, and Wherry Martin of Farmington.

A son, William Long, died in 1953.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Johnson funeral chapel. The Rev. B. Roy Brown, pastor of the Willard Street Methodist church will be in charge. Burial will be in Pittsburg cemetery, two miles west of Keosauqua.
