MRS. JESSE GOODWIN

UNIONVILLE - Mrs Jesse Goodwin, 88, died at 4 a.m., Sunday at her home in Unionville. She had been ill since fracturing her hip three months ago.

She was born Mary E. Selix and was born February 7, 1857 in Gallia County, Ohio, and came to Iowa with her parents in 1868. She was married May 14, 1881, to Jesse William Goodwin, after which she lived 30 years in Webster county and the rest of her life in Appanoose and Davis counties.

Surviving are three sons, Howard of Ft. Dodge, Harl of Bunch and Dewey of the Panama Canal zone; a daughter, Mrs. Carrie Gurney of Gowrie, Iowa; three brothers, James Selix of Ottumwa and John and Tom Selix of Unionville, and a sister, Mrs. Melissa Crawley of Udell.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Baptist church in Unionville. Burial will be in Taylor Cemetery.
