Clyde Delmar Venator 72 of 910 South Hancock St. died at St. Joseph Hospital at 7:30 a.m. today.

He was the son of Daniel and Mary Ellen THOMPSON Venator. A native of Douglas County, Missouri he was born February 7, 1881. He came to Iowa in 1883 living in MONROE and WAPELLO County since that time. He had lived in Ottumwa for 26 years.

His wife Ethel Worley Venator survives. They were married in 1905. Also surviving are two sons; Glen D. and Russell F. Venator both of Ottumwa; four daughters; Mrs. Murial Hanson, Mrs. Thelma Draper, Mrs. Edna Jones, and Kathereen Steele; all of Ottumwa. There are twenty four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.Three brothers preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at the Johnson Funeral Chapel at 3 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Albert Pringle of the Ottumwa Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Lawn Cemetery.Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
