OTTUMWA NATIVE DIES AT AGE 84

Richard N. Hill 84 of 1025 Boone Ave. died at 10 a.m. today. He was the son of John Benson and Anna Hill and was born in Ottumwa on March 30, 1869. He had lived here his entire life and was a cabinet maker by trade. He was a member of the Ottumwa Lodge No. 16 A.F. and A.M. On December 13, 1894 he married Ida Swanson who survives.

He is also survived by several sons; Gerald A., Harold, and Clarence of Ottumwa; Milburn Hill of Riverside, Wash., Orville Hill of Chariton, IA., and Norman Hill of Washington, two daughters; Mrs. Margaret Munn of Burbank, CAL, and Mrs. Ellie Schroech of Blakesburg, and one sister Mrs. Grace Bates of Ottumwa.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Malvin Lundeen officiating.There will be a Masonic service at the grave at Shaul Cemetery and members of the Masonic Lodge will serve as pallbearers.

*Transcriber note *Johnson Funeral Home book 12 has Robert as being born at Solem, Iowa. Burial was May 12, 1953.
