BLAKESBURG — Margaret Louise Gillen, 84, of Blakesburg, died Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at Monroe Care Center in Albia.She was born June 29, 1924 in Jefferson County.She married Chester Gillen in March of 1946. A Blakesburg High School graduate, she retired from John Deere Ottumwa Works. She was a farm wife, gardener and avid quilter.Survivors include one daughter, Judy (Ed) Richards of Ottumwa; three sons, Chester "Bob" Jr. and Jerry of Blakesburg and James of Michigan; one grandson, Brian Rachford of Arizona; two brothers, Richard "Dick" (Marie) Forney of Illinois and Jackson "Jack" (Helen) Forney of Florida and one sister, Roberta Joan Taylor of Des Moines.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Chester; a son, John; a sister, Betty Carol Sanders and a brother, Robert Forney.Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2009, at Knedler Funeral Home in Blakesburg with Gary Reeves officiating. Burial will be in Blakesburg Cemetery.Visitation begins Friday at noon with family present from 6-8 p.m.Memorials may be made to Blakesburg Cemetery Association or Blakesburg Library.
