William Herbert Knox, 77, of Sierra Vista, Arizona died of cancer in Tucson on Feb 3. He was born in Ottumwa Iowa on Sept 29, 1919 to John F and Louise Fletcher Knox. He was married to Rosemary Sweeney in 1937. They were divorced in 1967. Three children were born to them. He was the grandson of James F and Hannah Scully Knox and Herbert and Alma Schworm Fletcher of Ottumwa Iowa.

During WW2, he served in the Pacific arena as a radioman with the U.S. Navy. Upon his discharge, he returned to Ottumwa where he went to work for the post office. In 1952 he moved his family to Boulder Colorado.

Survivors include two sons; John W. of Boulder and David M. of Loveland and a daughter, Rosanne Knox-Turk of Loveland; one brother, James F of Blakesburg, Iowa and two sisters: Rosemary McCauley of Colorado Springs and Dorothy Fields of Boulder. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jack Knox, all of Ottumwa, Iowa.

A private service will be performed followed by cremation.
