MRS. VICTORIA SCHWORM

Mrs. Victoria Louise Schworm, aged 84 years, a resident of Ottumwa for seventy-nine years, died at 10:10 o’clock Tuesday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. Dittman, 1821 Sixteenth street, Rock Island, Ill. Mrs. Schworm had been at the home of this daughter since Thanksgiving day when she was taken ill with heart trouble, which caused her death.

Mrs. Schworm was formerly Miss Victoria Louise Roemer. She was born April 9, 1840 in Berne, Switzerland and came to Ottumwa at the age of 5 years, was reared and educated here and was married to Adam Schworm in 1859. Her husband preceded her in death eleven years ago. Mrs. Schworm was a member of the German Lutheran church and was active in auxiliary societies of the church. Ten children survive her, one having died in infancy and one twelve years ago; and she leaves twenty-four grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren.

The survivors are: Mrs. Herbert Fletcher and Edward Schworm, of Ottumwa; Mrs. John Weiner and Fred Schworm of Chicago; Mrs. Herbert Green of Quincy, Ill.; Paul and John of Omaha, Neb; Mrs. John Kuyk of Marshall town, and Mrs. John Dittman of Rock Island. Two sisters, Mrs. Levi Traul and Mrs. Carolina Ramsell, one brother, Adolph Roemer, all of Ottumwa, also survive her. A sister, Mrs. Pauline Schaub, preceded her in death in November, 1923.

The funeral will be held tomorrow at 2:30 ‘clock at the home of Mrs. John Knox, 310 Adams street, and from the German Lutheran church at 3 o’clock. Burial will be in Ottumwa cemetery.
