James Knox Dies; Former Supervisor

James F. Knox, 93, a former Wapello county supervisor, died at 9:30 a.m. today at the Ottumwa hospital. He was taken there a week ago after a fall in which he broke his hip.

Mr. Knox, whose home was at 1204 Chester avenue, was a member and past president of the Shaul cemetery board of trustees, and earlier had operated farms near Ottumwa.

He was born October 19, 1856 in Davis county, the son of William and Sarah Knox. He is survived by three sons and two daughters, Mrs. John Young, Des Moines, Joseph Knox, Long Beach, Calif.; John F. Knox, Ellis Knox and Mrs. Joe Powell, all of Ottumwa.

His first wife, Mrs. Hannah Knox, and second wife, Mrs. Mary Knox, preceded him in death.

The body is at the Johnson funeral chapel pending completion of funeral arrangements.
