BLOOMFIELD — Carol Rene Hopwood “Colonel” of Mesa, Ariz., and formerly of Bloomfield, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly in her home Aug. 2, 2008. She was born Dec. 11, 1958 to Nancy (Johnson) Comer and adopted by Jim and Chris Hopwood following her mother’s death. She was preceded in death by her mother and husband, Gary Hopwood.Surviving are her children, Steve and Michelle Hopwood and four grandchildren. Her body has been cremated. Celebration of her life will be 10 a.m., Aug. 16, 2008 at Mars Hill Cemetery with Pastor Richard Schlotter officiating. Memorials may be made to the family. Allen Funeral Home of Mesa, Ariz. was in charge of arrangements.
