OTTUMWA — Elberta Pilcher, 98, formerly of 1015 Glenwood, died Sunday, July 6, 2008, at Ottumwa Good Samaritan Center.She was born Oct. 18, 1909 in Floris to Martin and Mary Ann Simmons Smith. She married Harold R. Pilcher Aug. 31, 1931 in Floris. He died Oct. 12, 1999.She was a homemaker and very good mother.Survivors include two sons, Robert (Carolyn) Pilcher and Kenneth (Janet) Pilcher, both of Ottumwa; one daughter, Joyce Jasper of Amana; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; seven sisters; two brothers; two grandchildren; and a son-in-law.Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 10, 2008 at Robertson-Jay Funeral Home with Pastor Maurice Overturf officiating. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Bloomfield.Open visitation begins at 9 a.m. Thursday. Visitation with family will be from 9:30 a.m. Thursday until service time.Memorials may be made to the Avenue of Flags.
