Mrs. Laura A. Hunter 73 died at 10:15 p.m. Friday following a fall on the ice outside her home at 506 Lillian Street four hours previous. She had suffered a stroke.

She was born March 7, 1875 in Davis County , the daughter of George and Mary Bartlett.A resident of Ottumwa for the past nine years she was a member of the Grove Christian Church. Her marriage to William F. Hunter took place Jan. 10, 1895 at Davis Co. Iowa. He preceded her in death April 19, 1940.

Also precededing her in death was two sisters; her father in 1912 and her mother in January of this year.

She is survived by one son Chester of Ottumwa route 2, three daughters Mrs. Laura Williams of Drakesville, Mrs. Garrison of Ottumwa, and Mrs. Ruth Sylvester of Blakesburg route 1, one brother Elmer Bartlett of Ottumwa, and one sister Mrs. Maude Hunt of Bloomfield.

Services will be held at Johnson Funeral chapel of Ottumwa today at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in Hoopewell Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Paul Hunter, Roy Hunt, Dewaynne Matthews, Curtis Irlan. Ray McReynolds and Dale Martin.
