OTTUMWA - Margaret M. Sodemann, 86, of 225 S. Ransom, died at 11:50 p.m. Nov. 2, 2004, at Good Samaritan Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born Oct. 16, 1918 in Luverne, Minn. to Thorvald V. and Hjordis Houghner Nielsen. She married Boyd H. Sodemann Nov. 15, 1936 in Parker, S. D.

A graduate of Luverne High School in Luverne, Minn., she had been a resident of Ottumwa since 1939. She had worked at J.C. Penney's, Hoerner Boxes and Indian Hills Community College. She was a member of North Court Baptist Church and was past-president of the P.T.A.

Survivors include her husband; son, Richard B. (Janet) Lanigan Sodemann of Osage Beach, Mo.; four grandchildren, Krystal K. Ehn of Ft. Morgan, Colo. and Kenton K. Woollums of Ottumwa; Richard T. Sodemann and Brady A. Sodemann both of Fairfield, Ohio; six great-grandchildren, Abrey Sodemann, Taylor Sodemann, Austin Sodemann, Sharyl Woollums, Ryan Ehn and Monica Ehn; sister, Ruth Eberlien of Luverne, Minn.; and son-in-law, Marlin A. (Fran) Woollums of Ottumwa.

She was preceded in death by daughter, Sharyl Woollums; brother, Roy V. Nielsen; and sister, Dorothy Rust.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at North Court Baptist Church with the Revs. Roger Hemmings and Ron Abbas officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.

Visitation will begin 10 a.m. today (Thursday) at Reece Funeral Home with the family present from 6:30-8 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Iowa Regular Baptist Camp in Ventura, Iowa.
