BLOOMFIELD — Lois Guthrie, 90, of rural Bloomfield, died March 8, 2008, at her home.She was born Oct. 4, 1917 in Davis County, Iowa to Walter Bernard and Arley Maude Sloan Guthrie.

She was a graduate of Troy High School and Bloomfield Junior College. She graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1940. She served in the United States Air Force during World War II. She was a home economics teacher and member of the Rebekah Lodge #1 in Bloomfield.

She is survived by a niece, Barbara Marcey of Troy, Idaho; and a great niece, Damian M. Carrillo of Spokane, Wash.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Louise Audrey Foutz; and a brother, Donald Guthrie.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2008, at the Pulaski Cemetery in Pulaski, Iowa with military rites by Reed Whisler Post #78 of the American Legion in Bloomfield.A memorial has been established to Rebekah Lodge #1.Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge.
