Lloyd Ray Selix, age 84, of Udell, Iowa, died Saturday, June 2, 2007, at his home in Udell. He was born the son of Elmer and Floye (Brooke) Selix on July 23, 1922 in Promise City, Iowa. He graduated from the Unionville Community Schools.

On May 19, 1945, Lloyd was united in marriage to Anna Marie Houser at the Christian Church in Centerville, Iowa. He enjoyed his life's work as a farmer in the Udell, Iowa area and also served three terms as Mayor of Udell and over 30 years on the Town Council for the town of Udell. He was on the Appanoose County Extension Council for 4 years and was a member of the Grace Brethern Church in Udell.

He was preceded in death by: his parents and brothers, Doyle Selix and two in infancy.

Lloyd is survived by: his wife, Anna Marie Selix of Udell, Iowa; sons, Kenneth and his wife, Sheila Selix and Roger and his wife, Dana Selix all of Unionville, Iowa; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild; brother, Francis Selix of Moulton, Iowa; sisters, Bea White of Agency, Iowa, Viola Walker of Phoenix, Arizona; and a sister-in-law, Anne Selix of Loveland, Colorado.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at 10 am at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville with Rev. David Manning officiating. Burial will follow in the Unionville Cemetery north of Unionville, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 4, 2007 from 1 pm till 8 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home with the family present from 6 till 8 pm.

Memorial can be made to Unionville Cemetery and left at or mailed to the Schmidt Family Funeral Home.
