KEOSAUQUA - Jack LeRoy Courtney, 48, of 18180 205th St., Keosauqua, formerly of Ottumwa, died at 4:07 p.m. September 30, 2005 at the Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

He was born October 5, 1956 in San Francisco to Nancy Yardley. He married Tina Duffield Reyes October 5, 2001.

A graduate of Ottumwa High School in 1975, he played football and held many records in track. He worked for Hormel and then worked as a carpenter for 20 years working most recently for Britt Builders in Batavia. During his growing up years, he served as an acolyte at Trinity Episcopal Church in Ottumwa.

Surviving is his wife; a son, Jeremy (Crystal) Courtney; a daughter, Kaitlin Courtney; a granddaughter, Makenzie Courtney all of Ottumwa; a stepdaughter, Alisha Reyes of Birmingham; a stepson, Brandon Reyes of Fairfield; twin brother, Dan Courtney of Denver, Colorado and his mother and stepfather, Nancy and Donald Yardley of Eldon.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Nina and Forest Weber.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Reece Funeral Home with Sue Palmer officiating. Burial will be in Floris Cemetery.

Visitation will begin after 10 a.m. Monday at the Reece Funeral Home with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.

A memorial has been established to the Ottumwa Athletics Department or to the family.
