CANTRIL — Sharon E. Kirkhart, 58, of rural Cantril died at 4:55 p.m. Friday May 11, 2007 at the home of her mother near Ft. Madison.

She was born Aug. 5, 1948 in Ft. Madison to John J. and Alvina Krumpleman Beuchel.

She married Ronald W. Kirkhart Oct. 14, 1978 in St. Mary’s Church, Ft. Madison. He was born in OTTUMWA and died June 1, 2006. She graduated from Aquinas High School, Ft. Madison in 1966.

She served in the U.S. Army 1969-71 and worked 40 years at Sheaffer Pen Co., Ft. Madison. She assisted her husband on the farm, loved travelling, cooking and sewing and spending time with her family. She was of the Catholic faith and a member of the Van Buren County Farm Bureau.

Surviving are two sons, Neil and Phillip Kirkhart, both of rural Cantril, her mother Alvina Buechel of Ft. Madison, two sisters, Carol Menke of Ft. Maditon and Joyce Wilkerson of West Columbia, S.C, two brothers Robert and Larry Buechel of Ft. Madison, several nieces and nephews and two aunts, Iola Bales of Keosauqua and Cecelia Bellew of Ft. Madison. In addition to her husband, her father preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2007 in Cantril Christian Church, with Rev. Jerry Caughron and Father Gerald Hoenig officiating.

Burial with military honors by Russell Strait Post No. 483, American Legion, Milton, will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Cantril. Visitation will open at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, with family present from 6-8 p.m. Memorials to Lee County Hospice or Maple Grove Cemetery may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 29879 Fir Ave., Cantril, Ia. 52542.
