— OTTUMWA~ Charles Lloyd Howk, 69, of Vinton, Iowa, and a former resident of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday at Mercy Medical Center following a long illness.

Graveside services: 1 p.m. Friday at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in the Resthaven section.
Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 11 a.m. to noon on Friday.

Surviving besides his wife, Lorraine; is a son, Steven (Sue Burns) of Cedar Rapids; and a daughter, Diana Howk (Bob Sibert) of West Point, Nebraska; two brothers, David Howk of Bloomfield, Iowa and Paul Howk of Drakesville, Iowa; three sisters, Nancy Bowers of Ottumwa, Evelyn Adams of Blakesburg, Iowa and Doris Baird of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, Jeremy Burns, Kasi Burns and Robin Howk, all of Cedar Rapids and Amanda Sibert of West Point, Nebraska; and great-grandchild, Lily Burns of Cedar Rapids.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, Connie Sue Howk and Susan Mary Howk; a son, Michael Warren Howk; and a brother, Raymond Howk Jr. of Center Point, Iowa.

He was born January 18, 1937 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Raymond and Bernice (Boyer) Howk and was married to Lorraine Krebsbach on October 6, 1957 in Ottumwa.

He was formerly employed at Farmstead & Wilson Foods for 35 years prior to his retirement in 1991. He also served in the Iowa National Guard for 10 years.

A memorial fund in his name has been established.
