Tuesday Jan. 22, 1991Former Ottumwan Marjorie Ann Manley, 66 of Centerville died Jan. 20, 1991 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Centerville.
She was born May 9, 1924 in Livilia to William and Elsie Buss Simpson. She married Cecile Manley; he died in 1977.
She was a member of NAACP Women League of Votors, Methodist Mount Zion AME, and also Ottumwa City Council Democratic Party. She had been employed by John Morrell & Co. before retiring.
She is survived by a daughter Dianne Davis of Ceenterville; three grandchildren; three brothers; Charles Simpson of Illinois, Bob Simpson of Wisconsin and Donald of Ottumwa; two sisters; Virginia Simpson of Ottumwa and Francis Tompkins of Alburquerque N.M.
She was preceded in death by a grandson and three brothers.
The service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Shrine of Memories Funeral Home in Ottumwa; the Rev. Robert Lehmann of St. Paul Luthern Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery at Ottumwa.
Visitation will begin at noon today at the funeral home. Memorials have been established.
