Mon. July 19, 1999CENTERVILLE~Virginia Cathleen Simpson, 73 of Centerville, formerly of Ottumwa died July 17, 1999 at Centerville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born May 23, 1926 in Albia to William and Elsie Simpson.
She graduated from Albia High School and lived in Ottumwa before going to Centerville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was employed as a teachers aid for Head Start, nursing aide and elevator operator. She was a member of the Catholic Church.
She is survived by a sister, Francis Tompkins and a niece, DiAnne Davis of Centerville; great niece Debra Rexroat; great-nephews; Robert and Doughlas Davis and numerous great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Allen, William, Charles,John, Robert and Donald Simpson and infant twins.
Graveside services will be at Oakland Cemetery at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Father Joe Miller officiating.
