MRS. MERL WIGNALL

Mrs. Merl Young Wignall , 69, of 1020 East Main, died Tuesday at 2:20 p.m. at St. Joseph Hospital. She had been in failing health for three months.

The daughter of George and Martha Wilson Barlow, she was born in Polk County on Dec. 1, 1895, and resided in Ottumwa for most of her life. She was a member of The American Legion Auxiliary, Navy Mothers, and the Golden Agers.

Survivors include four sons; Harley Young of Stanton, Calif., Joe Young of Bueno Park, Calif., George Young of Ottumwa, and Kenneth Young of Fort Madison; three daughters; Mrs. Dorothy Byers of Ottumwa, Mrs. Orpha Leatherby of Fullerton, Calif., and Mrs. Zoe Longaker of Des Moines; twenty four grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and one sister; Mrs. Hazel Bales of Milwaukee, and three brothers; Thomas Barlow of California, Terry Barlow of Ottumwa, and John Barlow of Lovilia.

The service will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Jay Funeral Home withe the Rev. Ellsworth Walker of Wesley Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Ottumwa Cemetery.
