BLAKESBURG — Marjorie Chidester, 95, of Blakesburg, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007, at Ridgewood Nursing and Rehab.

She was born Jan. 28, 1912 in Wapello County, Iowa. She married Claude E. Chidester Aug. 9, 1934 in Ottumwa.

A 1931 graduate of Ottumwa High School, she retired as a secretary from Blakesburg Community Schools. She was a member of First Christian Church, CWF, S and C Club and American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include a nephew, Randy Chidester of Blakesburg; a sister; and other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1991; and two brothers.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, at Knedler Funeral Home with Ray Lyon officiating. Burial will be in Blakesburg Cemetery.

Open visitation begins 10 a.m. Friday at Knedler Funeral Home with family present from 6-7 p.m.Memorials may be made to Hospice.
