Raymond Bennett
OTTUMWA — Raymond E. Bennett, 93, passed away Nov. 13, 2007, in Truth or Consequences, N.M., his home since 1978. He was born to Marion and Ethel Owen Bennett on June 11, 1914 in Ottumwa, Iowa.

He is survived by son, David and wife, Alice Cantril Bennett of Brooklyn Center, Minn.; daughter, Sue Allison and husband, Bob, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; grandchildren, Ray Bennett of Brooklyn Center, Minn., Casey Bennett of Adak, Alaska, David Bennett of Brainerd, Minn., Lora Allison-Bird of Des Moines, Iowa, Lisa Allison of Colorado Springs, Colo.; ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Ingersoll Bennett in 1998. Also preceding him were son, Stephen Bennett in 1967; and three siblings, Ralph Bennett, Pauline Leeper and Ruth Woods, all of Ottumwa, Iowa.

He attended school in Ottumwa, Iowa. He was a longtime member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Ottumwa and Church at the Butte, Elephant Butte, N.M.

He was employed at John Morrell and Co., and was an instructor at Indian Hills Community College.A memorial service will be conducted at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 2705 N. Court, Ottumwa, Iowa, Dec. 22, 2007 at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Heart Association, 1111 9th St., Suite 280, Des Moines, Iowa 50314-2587.
