OTTUMWA — Iris Imogene Headley, 77, of 901 E. Mary St. died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007, at Hospice House.

She was born June 12, 1930 in Mount Zion, Iowa to George F. and Vada M. Thomas Slutz.She was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church and volunteered for church home visits.Survivors include two sons, Orville A. Headley Jr. of Des Moines and Roy Lee (Judy) Headley of Ottumwa; one sister, Carolyn B. (Bob) Stansberry of Ottumwa; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, James Ernest “Buddy”; a son, Paul L. “Larry”; a sister, Marguerite Ellis; and a grandson, Lawrence Headley.Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, at Robertson-Jay Funeral Home with Pastor Jared Miller officiating. Burial will be in Des Moines River Primitive Baptist Cemetery, Eldon, Iowa.Open visitation begins at 1 p.m. Thursday at Robertson-Jay Funeral Home with the family present from 7-8 p.m.Memorials may be made to Seventh Day Adventist Church or Hospice.
