OTTUMWA — Alma C. Teeter, 99, formerly of 145 S. Van Buren, died at 9:05 p.m. Sept. 8, 2007, at the Good Samaritan Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born Aug. 20, 1908, in Ottumwa to Fred and Matilda Johnson Nelson. She married Elmer J. Teeter Aug. 21, 1926, in Ottumwa. He preceded her in death on June 17, 1991.

She was baptized at the age of nine and was a lifelong member of the East End Presbyterian Church and a member of the Kings Daughters.

Her main interests were her children and grandchildren.

Surviving are a daughter, Martha Young of Ottumwa; son Rodger Teeter of Ottumwa and son-in-law Clark Peterson of Ottumwa; eight grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Peterson.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Reece Funeral Home with Rev. Kate Stangl officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

Visitation begins after 10 a.m. Tuesday with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorials may be made to East End Presbyterian Church or Good Samaritan Nursing and Rehab Center.
