CHARLES B. BLAKE DIES AT AGE OF 86

Charles B. Blake, 86, of Blakesburg route 2, died at the St. Joseph hospital Friday at 10:15 p.m.

The son of David and Nancy Blake, he was born at Hanover, Ill., February 26, 1855. He was a resident of the Ottumwa community for 45 years.

He was a retired employe of the Burlington railroad, and a member of the brotherhood of maintenance of way employes.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Nellie Allen of Blakesburg route 2; two sons, Dewitt Blake of Ottumwa and Sam Blake of Blakesburg route 2; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and three nieces and three nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Ellen M., and a son Lafayette.

Funeral services will be held at the Willard Street Methodist church at 2 p.m. Monday, with the Rev. M.C. Campbell in charge. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery. The body will remain at the Johnson funeral chapel unitl the time of the service.
