Frank Little, 86, Ottumwa
OTTUMWA — Frank A. Little Jr., 86, of 2613 Marilyn Road, died April 5, 2007, at home.

He was born Nov. 14, 1920 in Ottumwa to Frank L. and Dollie Mae Andreas Little. He married Dorotha Dean Jan. 20, 1947. She preceded him in death Aug. 16, 1999. He married Shirley Swinscoe Sept. 1, 2001.

A graduate of Ottumwa High School in 1939, he had been a resident of Ottumwa all of his life. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II in Germany and the Philippines from 1942 to 1946. He had worked at Akerman Auto for 28 years, Sieg Ottumwa for 12 years and for Brooks Motors for four years. He was a member of Willard St. United Methodist Church, Ottumwa Masonic Lodge #16 A.F. & A.M., Knights Templar of Iowa, Ottumwa Consistory, Davenport Consistory, Ottumwa Shrine Club, Davenport Shrine Club, past charter member of Ottumwa Shrine Cycle Patrol, a member of O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion, Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars, B.P.O. Elks Lodge #347, Winnebago Itasca Travelers Club, Winnie Korns Local Club, and Winnie Hawks State Club.

Surviving is his wife, Shirley; two step sons, Michael (Bridgett) Johnston and William Johnston both of Ottumwa; a step-daughter, Cynthia (Dave) Bowen of Eldon; 11 step grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Luers officiating. Burial will be in Brooks Cemetery near Hedrick with military services conducted by Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars and O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Friday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. A Masonic service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Active pallbearers will be Dick Dean, Dennis Dean, Jay Messerschmitt, Jeff Messerschmitt, Tom Lyon and Bob Ostdiek.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dick Frost and Bill Cowle.

Memorials may be made to Ottumwa Masonic Lodge #16 A.F. & A.M. or Willard St. United Methodist Church.
