Lola Eklofe, 63, Ottumwa
OTTUMWA — Lola Marie Eklofe, 63, of 343 E. Park Ave., died at 8:19 a.m. April 6, 2007, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.

She was born Sept. 22, 1943 in Hedrick to Clyde and Lillian Carris Handy. She married Jerry Eklofe Aug. 3, 1963 in Hedrick.

A graduate of Hedrick High School in 1961, she had been a resident of Ottumwa since 2001. She had worked as a cook at Hedrick schools and recently was employed by Carry All Services. She was a member of Willard St. United Methodist Church. She was a compassionate wife, mother and grandmother. She also enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and loved her flowers.

Surviving is her husband, Jerry; a son, John (Kelly) Eklofe of Knoxville; two daughters, Lisa Harrell of Knoxville and Christina (Shannon) Reinhard of Blakesburg; five grandchildren, Emily and Erik Eklofe, Tyler and Luke Reinhard, and Corey Harrell; and a brother, Dwayne Handy of Norwalk.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Lauren Reinhard; a sister, Christina Handy and a brother, Richard “Dick” Handy.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Luers officiating. Burial will be in Brooks Cemetery near Hedrick.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Monday with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday.
