July 18, 1929 – Ottumwa Courier p19 Col. 4 – Mrs. George Potts – Mrs. Ellen Elvira Potts, wife of George Potts, died suddenly at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the family residence, 2124 Emma Street. She was 78 years old and is survived by her husband and the following children: Mrs. Carrie Stevens of Oskaloosa; Mrs. Mau Slycord, of Eddyville, Mrs. Katie Johnson of Grinnell; Mrs. Sadie Rodebauch of Hale, Mo.; Mrs. Hannah Cecil of Battle Creek, Mich.; Will Potts of Brooks, Ore.; Mrs. Beulah Butts, Mrs. Jennie Collett and Mrs. Maggie Christy all of Ottumwa. She is also survived by one brother, Newt Aldridge of Ottumwa. The funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the home in charge of the Rev. Luther W. Childs. Interment will be made in Ottumwa Cemetery.
