February 9, 1931 – Ottumwa Courier p13 Col. 3 – George Potts, 76 years old, died Sunday evening at 8 o’clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Orville Butts, 1131 Hayne Street. He is survived by eight daughters, Mrs. Fred Johnson of Searsboro, Mrs. Will Slycord of Eddysville, Mrs. Ralph Stephens of Oskaloosa, Mrs. H. Cecil of Battle Creek Mich., Mrs. Arthur Rodibaugh of Hale, Mo., Mrs. Orville Butts, Mrs. Charles Christy and Mrs. Ray Collett all of Ottumwa and one son W.A. Potts of Salem, Ore., and two brothers and one sister, forty-two grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 3 o’clock from the Roscoe mortuary. The Rev. A.D. McClure, pastor of the Pentecostal church will have charge. Interment will be made in the Ottumwa Cemetery.
