OTTUMWA — Leroy Renfrew, 81, 723 N. Johnson, died at 1:55 p.m. March 25, 2007, at Good Samaritan Nursing & Rehab Center.

He was born Oct. 20, 1925 in Ottumwa to Carl and Elsie E. Van Tassel Renfrew. He married Mary Ellen Pickens June 5, 1943.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and for 65 years he owned and operated Renfrew Trucking.

Surviving is his wife, Mary Ellen; two sons, Mike (Vickie) Renfrew and Rodger (Sandy) Renfrew both of Ottumwa; two daughters, Linda (Dean) Schoon of Marshalltown and Dixie (Chalmie) Calhoun of Eldon; 11 grandchildren, Todd Renfrew, Stacie Proctor, Lori Johnson, Leslie (Mark) Brown, Chasity Calhoun, Chalmie Calhoun IV, Shana Calhoun, Paul Renfrew, Douglas Renfrew, Spencer Renfrew, Angie (Brian) Wood; six great-grandchildren, Kelsey Proctor, Taylor Brown, Tia Brown, Kody Wood, Jake Wood and Kylie Wood.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Dorothy Phillips; and a brother, Harold Renfrew.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Faith Baptist Church with Rev. Phil Griffith officiating.

Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery with military services conducted by O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion and Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Reece Funeral Home with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
