FAIRFIELD — Ruth H. Hunt, age 91, of Fairfield, passed away Friday, March 23, 2007, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

FAIRFIELD — Ruth H. Hunt, age 91, of Fairfield, passed away Friday, March 23, 2007, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

Visitation with the family present will be 6:30-8 p.m. Monday, March 26, 2007, at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Following her wishes, the body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2007, at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield. Pastor Gary Van Nyhuis will officiate. Burial of cremains will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.

The family wishes memorials in lieu of flowers to be made to the church of the donor’s choice or Victory Fellowship Church of Brighton.

Cards and memorials may be sent to 810 E. Fillmore, Fairfield, IA, 52556.

Ruth Helen Hunt was born June 19, 1915, in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of James Arthur and Emma Estella (Roberts) Starr.

She graduated from Fairfield High School with the Class of 1933. Ruth was united in marriage with Thomas Ball Hunt in June 12, 1937 in Fairfield, IA. They are the parents of six children: Patricia, James, Robert, Nancy, Richard, and Joseph. Mr. Hunt passed away February 5, 1990.

Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She was employed at Dexter and FALCO. Ruth loved horses and raised Appaloosa horses on the Hunts’ Triple H Horse Farm in Fairfield.

Ruth is survived by her children and their families: Patricia Haney and husband Merle of Fairfield, IA, James Hunt and wife Sandy of Point Clear, AL, Nancy Fleming and husband John of Palm Coast, FL, Robert Hunt and wife Maureen of Mt. Pleasant, IA, Richard Hunt and wife Debbie of Fairfield, and Joseph Hunt and wife Jane, also of Fairfield, IA. Ruth has 22 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband Tom, one grandchild, Brian James Hunt, one great-grandchild, and two sisters: Madeline Bouslaugh and Alice Huth.
