Ottumwa Courier May 15, 1944

James W. Bryant 58, died at his home on Quincy Ave. Ottumwa Route 4 at 5:30 p.m. today.

Born at Hayesville, July 25, 1885, the son of John W. and Mary Ann Bryant. He had made Ottumwa his home for nearly his entire life.

Surviving are his wife Lula; two daughters; Mrs. Madge Carder, Ottumwa and Mrs. Sarah Margaret Kruse of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and three sisters; Mrs. Frank Richard; Los Angeles, California; Mrs. W.A. Batterson and Mrs. John Sandell of Ottumwa. Six grandchildren also survive.

The body was taken to Johnson Funeral Chapel to await funeral arrangements.

Funeral services for James W. Bryant will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Johnson funeral home. Burial will be in Ottumwa Cemetery.
