MRS. OLLIE McCARTY MYERS, daughter of MARY and JOHN McCARTY was born in KEOSAQUA,IOWA on January 28, 1864 (paper said she was born in 1861)and departed this life at her home on August 15, 1937 at Mt. Zion, Iowa at the age of 76y 7m and 13d.

She married JAMES P. MYERS on October 24, 1885. 12 children were born to this union. CHARLES of DOUDS, IOWA; LIGUE of Des Moines,Iowa; WILLIAM of Avaca, Iowa; MRS.GEORGE HOUDYSHELL (KATE MYERS) of Rock Island, Illinois; MRS. MALEY (HELEN MYERS)(my grandmother) of Ottumwa, Iowa; MR. and MRS. JOHN PARKER (ANNA JOSEPHINE MYERS) of Mt. Zion, Iowa; CLYDE and LILLIE Myers at home. One grandchild JENNIE (daughter of LILLIE MYERS). There are 21 grandchildren and 5 G. Grandchildren. Three brothers; TOM McCARTY of Ottumwa,Iowa; (THOMAS)JOHN McCARTY of Ottumwa,Iowa; and MIKE McCARTY of Mt. Zion,Iowa; . One sister MRS. NELLIE JONES (wife of ALONZO, JONES) of Ottumwa,Iowa and a host of nieces and nephews. She united with the Presbyterian Church in 1915. MR. JAMES MYERS; husband, preceded her in death on February 22, 1931.

She was a kind and loving mother. She will be greatly missed by her family, neighbors and friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, August 27 (must be August 17)at her home.Rev. Hugo ORF of KEOSAQUA officiating. Interment was PURDOM CEMETERY.
