Know all men that ELIAS KITTERMAN of Wapello County of State of Iowa for the sume of two dollars and seventy five cents to me paid, grant, bargin and sell to JEHU MOORE of the County and State aforesaid the following Land in the County of Wapello and State of Iowa to wit:
Begining at the North East corner of section 17 of Township 72 North of Range 13 West thence South 1.30 chains to a corner stone between MOORE and KITTERMAN thence West 19.75 chains to corner then North 1.30 chains to corner on the North line of said section thence East on section line 19.75 chains to the place of begining containing 2.56 acres more or less and convenant that he shall forever quietly enjoy the same and that free from encumbrances and that I do warrant and will forever defend the same to him against all lawful claims and I, LYDIA KITTERMAN wife of the said ELIAS KITTERMAN do hereby relinquish my dower in said land, in testimony whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this 30 day of October in the year 1848.

Justice of the Peace of said County certify that on the 30th day of october in the year of 1848 the above named ELIAS KITTERMAN and LYDIA KITTERMAN his wife to me personally known to be the persons whose names are subscribed to the above deed as parties thereto acknowledged before me that they executed the same. I further certfy that I made the said LYDIA KITTERMAN acquainted with the contents of said deed and that she acknowledged on an examination apart from her said husband that she executed the same and relinquished her dower in the real estate therein mentioned freely and without compulsion or undue influance of her husband. Given under my hand the day and year above written.
