I ELIAS KITTERMAN of Ottumwa, Wapello County and state of Iowa being of full age, of sound and deposing mind and memory do herby make and ordain this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills and codices.
1st. I will and bequeath unto my beloved wife KATE KITTERMAN the following real estate to have during her natural life time or while sh remains unmarried to wit: A piece of ground situated in the North West corner of North Court Street and Maple Avenues as follows, Sixty-six feet (66 ft) front on North Court Street by one hundred and thirty two feet (132 ft.) on Maple Avenue including the house thereon- in the city of Ottumwa, Iowa to have and hold the same during her natural life time or while she remains unmarried, but in case of her remarrying or in case of her death I direct the said propertys be sold and the proceeds divided between my heirs share and share alike, that is to say my children and Grand daughter CORA KITTERMAN.
2nd. I futher will and bequeath unto my wife KATE all my house hold and Kitchen furniture, of every kind either useful or ornamental to have in her own right and title.
I further will and direct that the remainder of my said Real Estate situated in Ottumwa, Iowa to wit: All that part fronting on North Court Street and adjoining the part aforementioned and that situated and fronting on Maple Avenue and adjoining that portion disposed of to my wife on the West be sold by my administrator and after paying to my daughter MARY ANN KOONTZ, the sum of two hundred dollars ($200.00) the remainder is to be divided as follows; One half to be placed on interest secured by real estate the interest divided therefour for the use and support of my beloved wife, during her lifetime or while she remains unmarried and at her death or marriage, the said prinicipal to be divided between my children share and share alike including my granddaugher CORA KITTERMAN and I further will that the remaining one half be equally divided between my heirs by my administrator including MARY ANN KOONTZ.
I further will and direct that my land and Real Estate situated in Davis County, Iowa to wit: 100 acres be sold and the proceeds after paying my doctor bill, funeral expenses and Tompstone for my grave any remainder to be paid out by my administrators to my children share and share alike including my granddaughter CORA KITTERMAN. I futher will and bequeath and hereby direct that any and all other property I may have at the time of my death and not heretofore disposed of be sold by my administrator and the proceeds equally divided between my children including CORA KITTERMAN.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 14th day of February 1888 at Ottumwa, Iowa.
