As written in History of Wapello County 1878, Adams Township:

SCHOECH, G., farmer, S.29; P O Blakesburg, Iowa; born in Austria in 1828; came to Wapello County, Iowa in 1856. Married EMMA WALTHER in 1856; she was born in the Kingdom of Wurtemberg in 1831; have ten children -- CHARLES, THERESA, GIBHART, HARMON, ADOLPH, OTTO, HARRY, and JOE (TWINS), WALTER, MARY H. Owns 240 acres, valued at $30 per acre. Members of the Catholic Church.
MR. SCHOECH was in the Mexican Army. Democrat.
