JAMES NOSLER, was a dealer in drugs and medicines. He was born in Montgomery County, Virginia in 1802. He moved on to Tennesse, Indiana, and Iowa in 1843. He settled in Wapello County, Iowa in 1846 and practiced medicine. He lived in Eddyville, Iowa.

He was the son of SABASTIAN OR BOSTON NOSLER and his wife SOPHIA. He was married to JEMIMAH MOORE in 1826. They had seven children; MARTHA ANN, THOMAS MOORE, MARY JANE, IRENE, AMILDA, ELLEN, and HENRY C NOSLER. His first wife died in 1873, and he married SARAH NELSON of Alabama in 1874. His grave is located in the old section of Highland Cemeter in Eddyville, Iowa. He was thought to have died on 16 August 1891. His first wife is buried with him, having died on 06 May 1873.
