I am looking for information on my great-great-grandfather Patrick GARIN (alt. spellings: GEARAN, GEARON, GERRING) and family, found in Lick Creek, Keosauqua, Van Buren, IA, in the 1860 Census and Michael WELSH (alt. spellings: WALSH, WELSH, WELCH, WALCH) and family found in Business Corners, Village Township, Van Buren, IA, in the 1860 census.

Both families moved together from Akron, Ohio, in about 1858 and would travel on to Fairview, Allamakee, IA, in about 1861. Michael WELSH's wife, Catherine, was Patrick GARIN's oldest daughter. Michael WELSH was working on the railroad and Patrick GARIN was a laborer.
