This would be the Record-Republican but I'm not 100% certain whether in 1944 it was based in Keosauqua or Bonaparte (Van Buren County, Iowa) at that time, as two papers merged. There is microfilm for this year at the Keosauqua Public Library as well as at both the Iowa Historical Libraries in Iowa City and Des Moines.

Microfilm # 119D Record Republican 23 Jul 1942 - 27 Sep 1945

I do not live there so can't obtain a copy for you at the present time. There is a lookup service that might do this for you if someone doesn't respond to your query. See below.
