William R. Shaw

William Rollo, son of Rollo and Susan Eaton Shaw, was born Dec. 2, 1867, and died at his home in Bentonsport, Jan. 2, 1938, age 70 years, one month. He passed his boyhood with his aunt, Mrs. Sarah Eaton, who adopted him. Many now living remember the little lad who always accompanied his aunt to church and always sat in rapt attention to the service, and he being so young, never murmured at the wearisome sitting through the service, and seemed to enjoy the occasion. He attended public school and grew to manhood.

On January 3, 1897, he was united in marriage with Miss Abbie Butts to which union eight children were born, namely, Alta, Ethel, Elsworth, Lena, and Arthur, among those surviving the father. Theodore, Elmer and Clifford preceded him in death.

Mr. Shaw was a lover of home. He was a kind father, a good neighbor and friend, and was a loyal citizen. The community will miss him. He was never too busy (eo) help another in distress and never shirked life's problems. He created a happy home and had a fine family. He leaves to mourn his departure, a bereaved companion, five children, two sisters, a brother, numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

Services were held in the home in Bentonsport by the Rev. F.M. James, on Tuesday at 2 P.M., and interment was in the Bentonsport cemetery.
