My great, great grandmother was Nancy Mort who married Jacob McCloskey. They lives in Elk Lick Township, Somerset County, Pa. I am trying to verify that Nancy Mort was a sister to Conrad and Jeremiah Mort. Some of Peter Mort's children stayed behind in Somerset County, PA. Nancy Mort had a sister Christianna Eve Mort who married John Howieson at Sand Patch, Somerset County, PA around 1855.

I have letters from Van Buren County addressed to my brother and sister. There use to be twenty or thirty letters now I have only two of them.
