Looking for any info on William C. O'Brien 26 b OH & Mary E 24 b IA. They are listed on 1870 Census with above info on 1870 census for Village Twp, Van Buren, IA. Two children listed. Samuel E 2, born IA and Margaret A 1 b IA. My Grandfather Samuel O'Brine (O'Brien) ended up at an elderly lady's home in San Jose, IL as an orphan 1880 census. He thought he was adopted but it turns out not legally. Was raised by a family by the name of Samuel Wax & Sarah Hall Wax (married last of Dec. 1868 in IL. Sarah had lived in Village, Van Buren, IA with Grandfather Samuel Hall, next door to her father and family on 1860 census in Village, Twp. so could have known Samuel O'Brien before her marriage to Samuel Wax. She died before Samuel O'Brien was 9 yrs old and that was when he was supposedly dropped on Eleanor O'Brien's doorstep. 1880 Census San JOse, IL. has him listed as 12 yrs old. There must be some connection between Samuel Wax and wife Sarah Hall because I recently received a picture from a Decendent of Samuel & Sarah Wax taxen when Grandfather was a young man. I am strongly thinking Mary E. O'Brien in Village Twp, IA may have had Sarah Hall Wax help deliver her two children because family story goes that Grandfather Samuel O'Brine born 1868 Mother died in child birth. If I could find out whether Mary E. (O'Brien Village Twp., IA) did pass away after Margaret was born. Too many coincidence between Sarah Hall Wax living in same area in Village Twp, IA and ended up in San Jose, IL raising Samuel O'Brien until she died by 1878. What happened to Mary O'Brien also? Any cemetery records for Mary E. O'Brien???
