In Response To: John Calvin Holland birth (Rick Holland)

Where and when was he in Van Buren County? If he were in Iowa at the time of the 1925 state census, it would list his parents names in the census.

A World War I Draft Registration card in the name of John Calvin Holland showed him born 1 Feb 1873 and living in Custer Co, Nebraska at the time. Nearest relative Katie Holland. Census records suggest he was born in Iowa.

A long shot perhaps. In the 1880 census there is a widowed John Wolford b. 1841 living in Grant, Osborne, Kansas. In the 1885 Kansas state census he is married to a "Belle" who is 15 years younger than he is. And in the household is a John Holland, age 11, born Iowa.

Good luck.
