Need info on MCCLEES, MCLEES ancestors

I am looking for info on my ggggrandfather Alexander McClees and his family. They lived in Farmington, Van Buren co in the 1850 census. Still living there in 1853. Alexander was a lawyer and I am hoping to find records of any kind for him and his family. His wife: Phoebe.
Children: Elizabeth,Alfred,Sarah,William, Mary, and Richard. I would like to know his fathers name and thought some record might have him listed. He was supposedly born in Ky.

Elizabeth McClees, his dau. married in 1853 to my gggrandfather, George W Grass.

Alexander was in the civil war as was George W Grass, his son in law.

Are there any records that would help to prove he was a lawyer. He was 46 years old at the time of the census. He lived in Il prior to moving to Iowa. Thank you Mary Wilken
